EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM:

Hall of Residence Shared Programs

rina

Meetings, career counseling and international activities

Through structured programs, you will be able to develop your soft skills, to deepen interdisciplinary education areas and make contact with professionals from all around the job market. All this is JUMP (Job-University Matching Project), an educational path built to provide you with a complete personal and professional training.

In your Hall of Residence you will have many occasions of personally meeting prominent figures from the cultural, corporate and academic worlds.

You will also have placement opportunities and the possibility to engage in international experiences.

JUMP Job-University Matching Project

JUMP is the interdisciplinary educational program offered to residents and to other university students in the city.

It helps students complete their university curriculum and develop soft skills, connecting their present university experience with their future professional life.

It is a pathway that integrates academic knowledge with the content and dynamics of the professional world. It includes real case studies and provides opportunities to meet high-profile professionals. Classroom training is participatory and engaging, allowing students to challenge themselves in an environment of intensive learning.

JUMP is endorsed by the Politecnico di Milano, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, and Campus Bio-Medico. The latter two universities award university credits (CFU) to students who attend JUMP courses.

Formazione condivisa

JUMP+: shaping the future

JUMP+ is a specialized training program for master’s degree students, structured over two years, offering residents modules focused on the professional world, CV preparation, job interviews, reflections on life and career choices, and the study of work–life balance.

Thanks to partnerships with international Business Schools such as IESE Business School, AESE Business School, Dublin City University Business School, and the association EUCA, modules are organized abroad on topics such as entrepreneurship, compassionate leadership, and employability. These experiences offer residents professional training, high-level meetings with figures from the world of business and institutions, and company visits within the setting of a European city.

#GreatGuests

The residence has always been committed to offering its students high-level cultural events, moments of dialogue with leading figures from politics, culture, and business, reflections on current issues, as well as opportunities for leisure and the chance to cultivate musical and artistic passions.

Prominent figures from cultural, entrepreneurial, and political spheres have taken turns within the walls of our Residence. By sharing their professional experience, they have helped enrich the students’ understanding of the professional world.

International network

An international atmosphere can be felt in the residence not only thanks to the presence of foreign students, but also through training opportunities in English and cultural trips to discover major European cities.

The Residence also provides contacts and exchange opportunities with various university colleges around the world that share the same principles and vision.

Fondazione Rui promotes many initiatives and international mobility activities by offering scholarships and financial support through its dedicated internationalization fund.
The JUMP+ modules – organized in collaboration with leading international Business Schools – together with the activities promoted by EUCA, the European University College Association, and the initiatives proposed by CCUM, the Conference of Meritorious Colleges, represent international educational opportunities of great cultural and academic value.

Fondazione Rui also offers the ChinaMed Business Program, a summer program organized in collaboration with Zhejiang University International Business School and ToChina Hub.

Faculty Club: Naval Engineering

Many Naval Engineering students choose Delle Peschiere Hall of Residence as their home throughout their university years or regularly take part in its activities. Their choice is motivated not only by the Residence’s proximity to the Faculty, but also by its welcoming environment, excellent facilities, and the tailored educational opportunities it provides.

The Faculty Club offers a programme of complementary activities designed to enrich students’ academic education and broaden their professional outlook.

Regular meetings are organised with leading figures from the shipping industry, alongside annual visits to shipyards in Genoa and Marseille, as well as to cruise ships, in collaboration with major players in the maritime sector.

Naval Engineering students also have the opportunity to engage with some of the most prominent professionals and companies in the local maritime industry through dedicated corporate workshops.

In recent academic years, the Residence has welcomed distinguished guests including Professor Federico Silvestro and Professor Fabio D’Agostino from the Department of Naval, Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering (DITEN) at the University of Genoa, who led a seminar on all-electric ships. Professor Barbara Bosio, Professor of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Genoa, delivered a lecture on fuel cells and their applications in the naval sector, while Engineer Giacomo Schiapparelli presented the design and construction of LUNA ROSSA‘s support vessel.

Residents have also visited both the Chantiers Navals de Marseille and the San Giorgio del Porto shipyards in Genoa.

They have further taken part in a workshop hosted by RINA S.p.A., organised in collaboration with Fondazione Rui at the company’s Genoa headquarters. During the event, Engineer Ugo Salerno, Executive Chairman, and Dr Claudia Filippone, Chief HR & Communication Officer, shared their insights on the skills and competencies required to succeed in today’s professional world.

Faculty Club: Medicine

Medicine students regularly take part in in-depth seminars led by members of the Faculty.

At the beginning of each academic year, students are offered a study methodology course led by Francesco Cordua, founder of the Cordua Method. Throughout the year, they are also supported by dedicated academic tutors.

The programme includes regular meetings with medical professionals and visits to hospitals and healthcare facilities, giving students practical insight into the medical profession.

Workshops are also organised on topics related to career development in both the public and private healthcare sectors, the relationship between medicine and local communities, and healthcare management.

During the 2023/2024 academic year, the Residence welcomed the following guest speakers:

  • Professor Mario Amore, Full Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Genoa, who delivered a seminar entitled “Stress and Everyday Life”.
  • Professor Gabriele Zoppoli, Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Genoa, who led the seminar “Artificial Intelligence: Research and Clinical Applications”.
  • Professor Fabio Benfenati, Full Professor of Physiology at the University of Genoa, who presented “Photosensitive Nanomaterials for Vision Restoration”.

During the 2024/2025 academic year, students attended talks by:

  • Professor Pietro Baldelli, Full Professor of Experimental Medicine at the University of Genoa, who presented his preclinical research on epilepsy.
  • Professor Marco Frascio, Associate Professor of General Surgery at the University of Genoa and the Rector’s Delegate for International Cooperation, together with Dr Serena Falcone, Cardiology Resident, who shared their experience as physicians working in Africa.
  • Professor Valerio Gaetano Vellone, Associate Professor of Pathological Anatomy at the University of Genoa and Director of the Pathological Anatomy Unit at the Giannina Gaslini Institute, who presented the history and evolution of anatomical thought.

During the 2025/2026 academic year, residents met with:

  • Dr Alessandro Consales, Paediatric Neurosurgeon at the Neurosurgery Unit of the Giannina Gaslini Institute, whose work focuses primarily on epilepsy surgery.
  • Professor Gianluca Serafini, Full Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Genoa and Director of the Psychiatry Unit at IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino, who delivered a seminar on anxiety and psychiatry.
